Initial Pugh Charts
On March 21, 2014 our team met up and produced the following Pugh Charts. For the evaluation criteria we chose: Less Physical Exertion (LPE), User-Friendly, Lightweight, Compact, Affordable, and Greater Mechanical Advantage.
We began by using Max's Design Concept #5 as the datum. After we produced the decision matrix Patrick's design #6 ended up being the preferred concept.
We then created a second Pugh Chart using Brian's Design Concept #4 as the datum. After we produced the decision matrix it turned out that no design was preferred over Brian's.
We felt our first attempts at producing Pugh Carts were not providing clear enough results. So we decided to try again using a weighted benchmark chart. This time we were able to determine that Patrick's Design #6 and Brian's Design #4 were very closely the most preferred designs with Brian's design slightly edging out on top.
